A VERY BRIEF --But Entertaining! -- HISTORY OF MUSIC

This 8 week class will touch on the most important styles and composers from the Middle Ages through the present day.

PREREQUISITES: None

MEETS: TUESDAY EVENINGS from 6-7 PM, Starting September 8 OR

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS from 7-8 PM, starting September 9

 

WHY SHOULD I LISTEN? AN APPRECIATION FOR MUSIC

This 8 week course will present and explain interesting music from all styles and genres and musical topics such as “What Does a Conductor Really Do?” 

PREREQUISITES: None

MEETS: MONDAY EVENINGS from 7-8 PM, Starting September 14.

 

BROADWAY MUSICALS YOU NEED TO KNOW (BUT PROBABLY DON’T)

This 6 week course explores several great but less known musicals from the 1950s to the present day.

PREREQUISITES: None

MEETS: THURSDAY EVENINGS from 6:30-7:30 PM, Starting September 10

 

MUSIC COMPOSITION FOR BEGINNERS

This 8 week class will teach you some of the basics of writing music.

PREREQUISITES: The ability to read music in bass and treble clefs, some basic music theory is useful. 

MEETS: SUNDAY AFTERNOONS from 1-2 PM, Starting September 13
