The 2026-2027 season for the Gorge Sinfonietta opens with a program designed to explore landscape and the nature around us. The centerpiece of this concert is the Third Symphony of Sibelius, which treats listeners to the sounds of the North - the calm and serene sounds of Finland. We will hear the Vaughan-Williams work, Norfolk Rhapsody no. 1, comprised of folk songs from a fishing village in England. Also on the program is Dvořák's Hussite Overture, depicting his Czech homeland and the 15th-century Hussite wars, which includes deeply patriotic Czech songs.
