The Performing Arts Initiative (PAI) is a 501c3 nonprofit that was formed in 2016. Its purpose is to oversee the construction of a new, state-of-the-art performing arts facility in the Gorge. This 600-seat performing arts center will be the home for a wide array of music, dance, theatre, spoken word, lectures and film, not to mention corporate and community meetings and events. As of August 2018, PAI has completed a feasibility study with ECONorthwest, programmatic studies with Surround Architecture, and signed an option to lease land on Westcliff Drive. PAI has hired a project manager and is now in the process of securing seed funding to hire a capital campaign firm and architectural design team.

It is important to understand that while several CGOA Board members are also involved with the PAI, and that CGOA will likely be one of the primary tenants of the new facility, CGOA is not currently involved in this project. CGOA funds or donations are not being used for PAI. PAI and CGOA are entirely separate nonprofit entities.
